Hosting the ‘AI and Emerging Tech’ stage at MAD//Fest

Standing room only all day long at the ‘AI and Emerging Tech’ stage at MAD//Fest this year. It’s a hot topic and my questions remained “Is AI the new name for Emerging Tech? Is the AI term overused? and where are we on the hype cycle?”. I introduced and had a front row seats to 8 exceptional keynotes and hosted 2 panels looking at landed use cases, ethics and regulation.

This is obviously a white hot space and it’s reassuring to see the breadth of understanding and applications that are being surfaced.

We covered real life applications of generative AI are rife and being used widely. I spoke to VC’s, brands like Mars and Say It Now’s partners like Audiostack who allow us to quickly create or amend audio ads. Henry Coutinho-Mason and Natalia Talkowska gave a live demo of how gen AI can be used in brainstorming workshops bringing the ideas of 100 audience members to life in real time on the big screen. The IAB, Perla Bloom and James Poulter joined a panel I was moderating on how to weave ethics into regulation where I was surprised how advanced the thinking was and how rapidly global standards are taking shape and being adhered to. Lots to digest, this remains a white hot space…
