This week the kids are selling home made goods from the front of the house, we have a friend around with an early physical prototype of a family organiser product and between the jugs and the reels we’re talking through business and opportunities hurteling down the tracks in an AI fuelled world.
Maria and I took some time to reflect in what’s been going on in our kitchen over the years, it’s a heavy dose of ‘Go To Market’ (GTM) planning mixed with the endless search for the serendipity that is innovation interspersed with kitchen discos, tears, tantrums and laughter.
There are a couple of quotes that come to mind:
“I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work“ – Thomas Edison, on inventing the lightbulb
“Find a job you enjoy doing, and you will never have to work a day in your life.” – Mark Twain
The lessons along the way bringing to market voice enabled ads, Mindfulness products, visual powered recipe finders, influencer businesses and more have given us a wealth of experience in to accelerate the launch of products, businesses and initiatives that we take to work every day.
It’s a hard but ultimately very satisfying path. Always very happy to share perspective, it’s by speaking to ambitious dreamers and keeping the door open that you increase the surface area of serendipity and increase the likelihood for more magic to happen.
You have to believe in magic or you’d be mad to choose this path.
A quick romp down memory lane – feel free to get in touch if you’d like to know more about any of these stories:
Moment Pebble – ‘A New Tool For Modern Mindfulness’:
Ideation to successful Kickstarter, manufacture and product launch
Say It Now – Voice Enabled Advertising
The idea was conceptualised in the kitchen and much of the GTM planning happened there leading to a ‘Media First’, the “First ever Radio Campaign Globally to enable the consumer to purchase the product advertised using their voice’. Promo video showing the consumer experience shot in The Innovation Kitchen obvs.
Stix Mindfulness
Supported a child focused mindfulness startup with feedback from our kids who then appeared in the Stix promo video below:
MISE – A Voice First Kitchen Agent with Gemini Live
Say It Now had a short window to develop and build a concept for a competition for Google’s new Gemini Live model. Obviously The Innovation Kitchen and Maria’s excellent acting skills as ‘A Target Persona’ came to the fore.
OurWay – Product prototyping
Our friend Winsie has an early stage product business focused on supporting communication, task ownership and goal completion within the family setting. She ran a workshop to see how her concept was landing and the challenges and joys of working in a family setting. Stay tuned, this product is in early stages of development and not yet launched.
