Having lived through the birth of the mobile phone and realising now that over the last 10 years (2008-18) mobile has gone from <1% of devices that access the internet to 53% I’m, more excited than ever about the growth of assistants. I expect them to grown quickly in popularity and daily use. This presents an enormous opportunity and we can learn a lot from mobile adoption.
- “Assistant first” as a design paradigm for customer service or new business models will be increasingly viable.
- Google will increasingly optimise services for use within its assistant environment
- New advertising practices will be developed to deliver marketing and advertising messages into this platform
