I have 3 children and getting around London is a real pain in the car. My wife and I commute on bike every day so reverting to a car with the annoyance of parking and being in traffic at the weekend doesn’t appeal. I’ve been after a cargo bike I could fit the 3 kids in for a while but they’re really expensive in London. Less so in Holland. So as I was heading to Phocuswire in Amsterdam I decided to pick one up and ride it home.
Left the conference after lunch on Thursday, train to Rotterdam and Uber to some lovely people in Papendrecht, just East of Rotterdam, rode the bakfiets to the ferry at Hook of Holland, took that overnight then rode it the 90 miles home. Really impressed with google’s bike navigation and UK bike ways as about 30 of those UK miles were off road (all of the Dutch kilometres were).
